◎Nuwa Culture
Wahuang Palace, located on the ancient Zhonghuang Mountain in She County,is said to be the place where Nuwa, the ancestor of China, created mankind and repaired the sky in prehistoric times. This is the reason why Wahuang Palace is honored as the “Ancestral Temple of China.” The Palace was built on a cliff and regarded as one of the “ten wonders” of ancient architecture in Hebei because of its hard-to-build pavilions and exquisite structures. According to the grottoes and cliff carvings there,it was first built around 1,500 years ago,and expanded and repaired from generation to generation. According to the legend,Nuwa was born on 15 March in lunar calendar. When the annual Wahuang Temple Fair is held on that day, visitors from neighboring provinces will come here to worship Nuwa. For thousands of years, the customs, beliefs, myths and legends that have been passed down have formed a rich mystical culture that is known far and wide in the Central Plain. Nuwa Culture, represented by the Wahuang Palace, demonstrates the indomitable spirit of Nuwa, who fought against nature and benefited the whole people,as well as the national spirit of self-improvement.(https://www.daowen.com)
