4.1.1 Basic Structure and Function of The Aerial Devices with Insulating Booms

Aerial devices with insulating booms are generally modified from automobile engine and chassis.The rear part of the vehicle is equipped with a moving turntable and a hydraulic bucket arm device.The arm adopts a folding or telescopic structure,and the front end is provided with a square or circular insulating bucket.The entire arm is mounted on a turntable that can be rotated 360°.In order to increase the stability of the vehicle,thereby maximizing the length of the arm,it is generally equipped with hydraulic legs,the structure of which is shown in Fig.4-1.

The work bucket,work arm,control oil line and arm joint of the aerial devices with insulating booms can meet certain insulation performance indicators,and are equipped with grounding device.The insulating arm is generally made from glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin material,which is generally formed into a cylindrical or rectangular cross-section structure,and has the advantages of light weight,high mechanical strength,good electrical insulation performance,strong water repellency,etc.It provides insulation protection relative to ground for the human body during live working.The insulating bucket in divided into single layer bucket and double layer bucket.The outer layer bucket is generally made from fiber glass epoxy plastics,and the inner layer bucket is made from PTFE material.
