5.1.5 Anti-mechanical Piercing Insulating Gloves f...
1.Basic Structure and Function of Anti-mechanical Piercing Insulating Gloves for Live Working
(1)Basic structure
①The gloves are made of synthetic rubber and the gloves can be lined to prevent mechanical, chemical and ozone oxidation.
②The main part consists of the baseline of the thumb, the wrist, the flat cuff, the curled cuff, and the middle point of the middle finger bending,as shown in Fig.5-13.
(2)Basic function
Puncture proof insulating gloves for live working are gloves for electrical auxiliary insulation during live working on high-voltage electrical equipment or devices.,mainly providing insulation protection for the hands of live working operators, requiring good electrical performance and high performance.Mechanical behavior.
2.Classification and Technical Specifications oOf Anti-mechanical Piercing Insulating Gloves for Live Working
(1)Classification
①According to the method of use,the gloves can be divided into composite insulating gloves and long-sleeved composite insulating gloves.
②According to the shape, the gloves can be divided into single insulating gloves and mitten insulating gloves.
③Three grades of gloves are specified according to electrical properties:00,0 and 1.Anti-mechanical piercing gloves with different nominal voltages are shown in Table 5-6.

Fig.5-13 Puncture Proof Gloves
Table 5-6 Anti-mechanical Piercing Gloves with Different Nominal Voltages

Note:it refers to line voltage in a three-phase system.
③Gloves with special properties are divided into five types:A,H,Z,P and C5,shown in Table 5-7.
Table 5-7 Gloves with Special Properties

Note:Class P combines the performance of A,H,and Z.
(2)Technical specifications
①The puncture proof insulating gloves for live working have mechanical protection properties, can be used without mechanical protective gloves, and have good insulation properties.
②Glove cuffs can be made with or without crimping.
③The length of the insulating gloves. The length standards for different grades of gloves are shown in Table 5-8.
Table 5-8 Length of Conventional Insulating Gloves of Different Grades(https://www.daowen.com)

Note:The composite insulating gloves are allowed to have a length deviation of±20 mm.
④Thickness of puncture proof insulating gloves for live working. To maintain proper softness, the maximum thickness of the glove plane(when the surface is not ribbed)is shown in Table 5-9.
Table 5-9 Maximum Thickness of Synthetic Rubber

Note:The thickness value corresponding to the level"1"is not determined.
3.Inspection Items of Mechanical Puncture Resistance Insulating Gloves for Live Working
(1)Identify no harmful and tangible surface defects by inspecting the inner and outer surfaces of the gloves.
(2)The palm and finger surfaces designed to improve grip performance should not be considered surface defects.
(3)Where one of the gloves may not be safe, the gloves cannot be used and should be returned for test.
4.Usage of Mechanical Puncture Resistance Insulating Gloves for Live Working
(1)Before use,air leak test shall be carried out:first, insulate the insulating gloves and squeeze them on the face to check for air leaks.
(2)Avoid using the insulating gloves to directly press a sharp object.
5.Precautions for Storage of Mechanical Puncture Resistance Insulating Gloves for Live Working
(1)Insulating gloves shall be packaged in separate parts. The gloves shall be stored in a special box to avoid direct sunlight or stored near artificial heat sources,to prevent rain and snow from immersing, and prevent extrusion and sharp objects from colliding, otherwise the gloves may be punctured or scratched.
(2)It is prohibited to contact the gloves with oil, acid, alkali or other harmful substances, and it shall be kept more than 1m away from the heat source. The storage environment temperature should be 10-21°C.
(3)In case that the gloves are dirty,it is necessary to wash with soap and water, and apply talcum powder after thorough drying. In case that a mixture of tar and paint adheres to the gloves,it is necessary to wipe it off with suitable solvent.
(4)In case that the gloves are wet during use or dried thoroughly after washing, the drying temperature shall not exceed 65°C。
(5)Do not unnecessarily expose the gloves to heat, light,or contact with oil, grease, turpentine or weak acids.
6.Test items of Mechanical Puncture Resistance Insulating Gloves
The conventional test contents of conventional insulating gloves are as follows.
(1)Mechanical test.Including wear test,anti-mechanical puncture test,tear test,tensile strength and elongation at break test,anti-cut test.
(2)Electrical performance test.Including AC verification test,AC tolerance test, and leakage current test after damp.
(3)The preventive test of the insulating gloves shall be conducted once every six months.
