The Shepherd and the Dragon Princess
A long time ago，there was a poor boy in Dongpo，and nobody knew his name.When his parents died，he was left alone with a couple of lambs.The boy was a good shepherd.The lambs were born in pairs every year and four pairs in two years.In a few years，the boy had a large group of lambs.From then on，the boy had herded the sheep in Xiangmian Mountain，and he had been happier day by day.He cut a piece of bamboo from the mountain and made a small flute.He blew his little flute when herding sheep.It was said that as soon as he played the flute，the willows by the river would swing in the wind，and the leaves of the trees on the mountain would fall down.When hundreds of sheep heard his flute，they would eat grass quietly and did not shout or jump.
One day when the sun just set and the boy was driving the sheep down the mountain，he played his little flute again.The sound of the flute went down the mountain and penetrated into the dragon's pool，and was heard by the dragon king's third daughter，who was playing in the back garden of the palace.She had never heard such melodious flute before.From then，she enjoyed the shepherd playing his flute in her back garden every day.She thought，the outside world must be much better than the dragon palace.It would be great to go outside and play！But her father had a rule：No one in the dragon palace was allowed to go outside.
The Third Princess was very beautiful.Forty-nine princes had proposed to her，but she hated the life in the dragon palace and did not accept any of them.
One evening，the princess heard the flute again，and she secretly slipped out of the back garden of the pool regardless of her father's rule.The shepherd was playing her favorite song.The princess fell in love with him at the first sight.The princess picked a leaf from the tree and put it into her mouth and blew a song.
The shepherd was stunned to see her.Where did this girl come from？She played the leaf better than his flute，and she was more beautiful than the moon.When he asked her who she was，she told him that she was the third princess of the dragon king.The shepherd felt extremely happy.Who had ever loved him as a boy without parents and any relatives？Now the dragon king's princess fell in love with him！
From then on，he liked playing the flute even more，and his flute sounded more melodious than before.Every day when he played his flute on the mountain，the princess would come to the mountain from the pool to herd the sheep with him.When the dragon king was out of the dragon palace，the princess would secretly take him to the dragon palace to play.
One day，after the shepherd had played the flute for a long time，he did not see the princess.He was anxious to know what happened to her.At that moment，a palace maid came in a hurry and told him that the dragon king had already known about their relationship.The king was very angry and locked the princess in the palace.And the shepherd should better go to save the princess immediately.
The shepherd was very angry to hear that.He drove the sheep and waved the whip in his hand and immediately rushed to the dragon palace.When the dragon king came out of the dragon palace and saw a group of sheep like black clouds rushing toward him，he was scared and retreated to the rocks.The shepherd's whip happened to hit him，and the dragon king rolled down Xiangmian Mountain like a rock.Now there are two strokes on the south of Xiangmian Mountain，which were the traces scratched by the horns of the dragon king.Since then，no one dared to play the flute and roll stones on Xiangmian Mountain.As long as one plays the flute or rolls stones，there will come a violent storm and a heavy rain.
After the dragon king rolled down the mountain，the shepherd drove his sheep to rush into the dragon palace.The sheep turned into a group of small fish，and the shepherd became a big carp.Therefore，people call this pool“Sheep Dragon Pool”.
