Dr Yeng Seng Goh(correspondent author)is Professor of Linguistics and Language Education in the Office of Education Research at the National Institute of Education,Nanyang Technological University.He received his Ph D in linguistics from SOAS,University of London.He is a bilingual and bicultural scholar whose key research interests include the teaching of Chinese as a(n)second/foreign/international language;Chinese-English language policies and language education;contrastive linguistics and translation;heritage language education;ICT in teaching and learning;university-industry collaboration.Email:yengseng.goh@nie.edu.sg
Yeow Wah Fong is a Ph D candidate at the National Institute of Education,Nanyang Technological University,with research interests in language use and identity with specific reference to the Chinese community in Singapore,language policy and planning,and design and development of Chinese language instructional materials.
