5.4.6 Usage Does not Honor the Heritage Value

For those historical houses that have not yet been identified, most people who live nearby do not even know that the famous persons have lived there before.The usage of these buildings has nothing to do with their heritage value (Fig.5-25), which does not consider the values of the historical figure and the home in which he or she lived.For those historical residences which have been identified and used as museums, they are not truly integrated with modern life, leisure, entertainment, and educational needs.The displays inside the residences are often simple, dull and boring, or lack of vivid life scenes of the former house owner, which cannot clearly interpret the essence of the historic personalities and their spirit efficiently (Fig.5-26, 5-27).
