3.7 Evolutionary Relationships Based on Genetic Distances
In the whole mt genome and all of the PCGs(except cox2),the K2P distance patterns of the host insect to the other 7 Hepialidae are similar. The three smallest K2P distances from the host insect are those to T.renzhiensis,T.gonggaensis and H.xiaojinensis, while the two greatest distances are those to E.signifer and N.hunanensis(Fig.7).This finding suggests a close relationship of this host insect to T.renzhiensis,T.gonggaensis and H.xiaojinensis and a lineage of E.signifer and N.hunanensis relatively distinct from the host insect. This result is concordant with the evolutionary relationships inferred based on phylogenetic analysis.
