5.7　Structures for Navigation

5.7.1　The types and layout of navigation structures shall be worked out after techno-economic comparison of project layout，topographical and geological conditions，sedimentation，water flow conditions，operating conditions and construction，etc.

5.7.2　Navigation structures should not be close to intake，powerhouse or spillway.If limited by conditions，the navigation structures have to be close to the above-mentioned structures，then safety measures shall be taken.(https://www.daowen.com)

5.7.3　The upstream and downstream approach channels of navigation structures shall be smoothly connected with the main channel.The flow velocity and flow pattern of water flow at the entrance area of upstream and downstream approach channels shall meet the navigation requirement，and necessary measures shall be taken to prevent sedimentation.
