5.8　Safety Monitoring Instrumentation

5.8.1　Safety monitoring facilities shall be installed for hydraulic structures according to their importance，types，structural features and geological conditions，etc.The monitored items should be selected as shown in Table 5.8.1.

5.8.2　In the design of safety monitoring，priority shall be given to external observation while internal observation is supplemented.Typical observation sections and observation points shall be selected.

5.8.3　The monitoring facilities shall be easily constructed，installed and maintained，and protected by effective measures.
