5.6　Summary

This chapter makes a complete analysis of how translators construct image-G in TT and studies on four categories of correlations between the constructed image-G in TT and the original one in ST respectively.Firstly,it probes into major contributing factors to the smooth construction of image-G within each category of corresponding relations by employing Xu Yuanchong's translation examples of classical Chinese poetry.The translation cases are served as empirical data to crystallize theoretical explanations.Secondly,its study focus is laid on translators'practical operation and mental operations on the construction of image-G in their translation of classical Chinese poetry,on which basis it summarizes corresponding conclusions related to the supplementary means for each category of image-G construction.It reveals that translators do their endeavor to realize image-G actualization from source text to target text,which is processed from three major aspects,namely,Gestalt of prosodic structure,Gestalt of syntactic structure and Gestalt of situational scene.To conduct research into translators'practical and mental operation is of the essence,for it not only bring to light the regularity for their cognitive and psychological activities in the courses of image-G construction,but also has great positive effect in revealing translators'specific perceptual pattern.
