For a better understanding of the work to be done in the study，it is necessary to say something about corpus.As Kennedy put it，a corpus is“a collection of texts in an electronic database”（Kennedy 2000：3）.This collection of data usually has two major uses：first，corpus-based approach is used to analyze language structure and language use；second，new view points or theories are on the basis of facts represented in corpus.
Corpus linguistics emerged in the 1960s.Using corpus in language study hasmany advantages.It can“provide a means of hand ling large amounts of language and keeping track ofmany contextual factors at the same time.It therefore has opened the way to a multitude of newinvestigations of language use.”（Biber 2000：2）
Corpus-based study can be employed in different fields，such as lexical study，grammatical study，textual analysis，pragmatic study and stylistic analysis.Fortunately，these aspects of study can be incorporated in the translated texts.(https://www.daowen.com)
Corpus-based translation study is an im portant branch in translation studies，a branch that has a history of about three decades.In the early 1990s，Mona Baker，a founder and pioneer in the field，put forth some universal features of translation，such as explicitness，simplification，normalization and leveling out（Baker 1993）.O lohan（2001）tested subconscious process of explicitation in translation，that is，translated English displays a higher incidence of a range of optional syntactic features than is observed in a comparable corpus of original English.Laviosa（1998）set two hypotheses：translational com ponent has a lower lexical density and mean sentence length；translational component has a higher proportion of high frequency words.
In China，some scholars have made achievements in the field.Qin analyzed lexical features of Chinese as target language in E-C translation（Qin＆Wang 2009）.Huang investigated the explicitation of personal pronoun subjects in English-Chinese translation（Huang 2008）.Xiao had an insight into the third code during the translation process（Xiao 2010）.
