The result shows that the first five perspectives in research papers make up a large part of the total(translation strategy 30%,cross culture 17.5%,case analysis 10%,functional theory 10%and aesthetics 7.5%,altogether75%).As to masters'theses, the first five perspectives also make up 75%(functional theory 22.5%,cross culture 20%,relevance theory 15%,translation strategy 10%,skopos theory 7.5%).Obviously,most studies only concentrate on a few view points.Papers and MA theses share three common perspectives—translation strategy, cross culture and functional theory which accumulate 57.5%and 52.5%respectively.
Admittedly, the cultural difference is one im portant consideration in the tourism texts translation, especially from Chinese to English.Chen(2004:320)suggested making cultural substitution to fill the lexical gap and achieve the cultural equivalence.Jin(2003)resorted the different natures between Chinese and English. Then he suggested some strategies in the intercultural translation, such as compensation, shift of perspective, adaption and back translation. Some scholars have taken new view points on the tourism texts research in the last few years.W ilkinson(2005)applied a specialized corpus to improve the translation quality from Finnish to English.Li&Wang(2009)set about to build a Chinese-English parallel tourism corpus to analyze the tourism translation.
