My mother gave birth to me,and she would then leave the family behind to feed at sea. And my father was left to take care of me. For two months, my father carried me around on his feet. He stood and balanced me on his feet. He kept me safe and warm. Then, one day, I came out of the egg. When my mom returned from the sea, sometimes up to 60－80 kilometres away,she threw up some of the food for me and take father’s place to look after me. The Antarctic winter is quite tough, so we crowd together and take turns to move into the warm inside. In December, during the Antarctic summer, when the ice begins to break up and open water appears,we are now ready to be good survivors, excellent swimmers and great parents on our own.

1)Cooperation plays a very important role in their survival. They crowd together to escape wind and keep warmth. Meanwhile they take turns to move to the relatively warm inside. If they don’t cooperate in that way, they may not survive and will be frozen to death.
This tells us that animals need to work together to survive the nature, and we human beings should also learn to cooperate with each other in face of difficulty.
Other animals which also cooperate to survive include ants, elephants, some whales, monkeys, etc.
2)Both father and mother take up a part of the responsibility in looking after the baby. The mother gives birth and finds food far away in the sea. The father keeps the egg safe and warm, and gives up eating until the mother comes back. Without their finest cooperation, the egg would not be able to hatch into a penguin.Omitted.
