Abstract:This article seeks to investigate the role that translation plays in translanguaging through a case study of undergraduate translation teaching in Monash University.By introducing the translanguaging theory into translation teaching and related research，in this chapter I aim to provide my answers to the debate of two major focal points，firstly，the relevance of translanguaging in translation teaching in light of the debate on whether translation should serve for professional training or the fostering of cross-cultural communication skills in a tertiary education setting;the second point to answer is to discuss the reorientation of teaching pertinent to the introduction of such concept of translanguaging.I will also elaborate on one concept:translation awareness，to underscore the significance for introduction of contextualization in translation teaching.
