Check on By-pass Valve and Filter Blockage Indicator

1.Equipment Needed

A simulated filter core,a 28V ground DC power source,a fuel container(about 50L)and a fuel drain pipe.

2.Preparations

·Connect the ground power source to the helicopter.

·Open MGB and engine cowlings.

·Remove the locking wire and well place the fuel container.Disconnect the engine fuel-in pipe on the fire-proof baffle plate.

·Connect the fuel drain pipe.

3.Testing Procedures

Note:the test shall be conducted on the fuel-in pipe of each engine in turn.

·Remove the filter core.

·Replace the original filter core with the simulated one and put the simulated filter core into the fuel filter.

·Engage battery relays.

·Switch on booster pumps.

·Check the following points in turn to see:

If filter blockage indicator“FILT”lights up.

If the red ring on filter blockage indicator is fully visible.

Note:If indicator“FILT”doesn’t light up while the red ring on filter blockage indicator is fully visible,press the indication cap and the indicator shall light up.

·Switch off booster pumps.

·Disengage battery relays.

·Remove the simulated filter assembly and re-install the original filter core.

·Reset the filter blockage indicator.

4.Finishing Touches

·Remove the fuel drain pipe.

·Re-install and fasten the fuel-in pipe.

·Remove the fuel container.

·Disconnect ground power source.

·Re-install MGB and engine cowlings.
