Lang transport,comprising mainly rail and road transport,can ship cargoes between regions that are connected by land,such as between inland cities and seaports or airports,between neighboring countries or used as land bridge that crosses continents.It can be employed either independently for international shipping,or as a feeding vehicle for ocean or air transport,particularly under multimodal transport.Though at a lesser scale than the other modes,with the proliferation of free-trade agreements worldwide,it is likely to see a marked growth among countries in the same geographical area and may even become the dominant mode within certain regions,opening up opportunities for trade to new corners of the world.
