Marine cargo insurance also covers expenses incurred to avoid or reduce the damage to or loss of the insured cargo.These expensesmainly come in two types.One is the sue and labor expenses incurred when the insured,the employee or the assignee take necessary and proper measures to minimize or avoid losses caused by the risks covered in the insurance policy.The other is the salvage charges incurred when a third party(a party other than the insurer and the insured)takes such measures to reduce or avoid the damages or losses.
