8.2 Insurance Under Other Modes of Transport其他运输方式下的保险

As air shipping features shorter transit times, lighter packing, quicker clearance and,in most places, stricter theft-pilferage control,a significant number of export cargoes nowadays are shipped by air. While an air disaster is often sensational, air shipping is one of the safest modes of moving goods internationally.Fast delivery and ease with cargo handling help to reduce air shipping risk and lower its premium rate, which has made it increasingly appealing to both the insurer and the insured.Air insurance coverage also comes in two types:Air Transportation Risks and Air Transportation All Risks. The former is similar to WPA,while the latter to marine All Risks.

A large volume of cargoes is now transported by rail and road.Insurance coverage for land transport also comprises two categories:Overland Transportation Risks, which is almost equivalent to WPA for marine insurance, and Overland All Risks for land transport, almost equivalent to marine All Risks.

Parcel post insurance covers the losses of or damage to the parcels caused by natural calamities, fortuitous accidents or extraneous risks. It includes Parcel Post Risks and Parcel Post All Risks. On the basis of these two types of basic coverage, additional coverage may also be added when needed.
