8.1.2.2　Additional coverage附加险

♦General additional coverage一般附加险

This insurance covers TPND(Theft,Pilferage and Non-Delivery),Fresh Water Rain Damage,Risk of Shortage,Risk of Intermixture and Contamination,Risk of Leakage,Risk of Clash and Breakage,Risk of Odor,Damage Caused by Heating and Sweating,Hook Damage,Risks of Rust,etc.This insurance cannot be purchased independently but should go with FPA or WPA.Yet they are all covered under All Risks.

♦Special additional coverage特别附加险

This insurance covers wars,strikes,failure to delivery,import duty,on deck risk,rejection,etc.,among which wars and strikes are more common.This insurance is usually purchased together with FPA,WPA and All risks.

To choose a type of coverage that is both economical and effective,you or the importer should be aware of the possible losses to be expected of a particular consignment.Cargoes differ in nature and may need different types of coverage.For example,cargoes like iron ore seldom faces risk of partial loss,so FPA will be sufficient.Most manufactured goods are covered against All Risks,as they are prone to damage caused by sea perils or extraneous risks.
