Institute Cargo Clauses drafted by London Insurance Institute,is an influential set of cargo clauses widely adopted in international trade. It was first drafted in 1912 with the most recent revision made in 1982.It has the following subsets:Institute Cargo Clause A,Institute Cargo Clause B,Institute Cargo Clause C,Institute War Clause-Cargo,Institute Strike Clause-Cargo and Malicious Damage Clause.China Insurance Clauses were drafted based on the 1936 version of London Insurance Institute Cargo Clauses; therefore, they are roughly equivalent to one another. For example,Institute Cargo Clause A is roughly equivalent to All Risks under CIC marine cargo insurance,Institute Cargo Clause B to WPA,and Institute Cargo Clause C to FPA.Similarly,Institute War Clause-Cargo and Institute Strike Clause-Cargo are roughly equivalent to War Risk and Strike Risk under CIC marine cargo insurance, respectively. However,it should be noted that differences do exist between the two sets of clauses and you are suggested to study them carefully before adopting either one set.
