摘　要：基于“文化语境”的概念，本文从语言文化的概念和英语文化沉积词语的文化联想意义两个方面，简述了英语习语的文化特征，并揭示了文化洞察力的培养在外语教学中的意义。

Abstract：Based on the concept of“context of culture”，this article explores the characteristics of the English idioms from the perspectives of the concept of linguistic culture and cultural association in words of cultural sediments，in an attempt to highlight the significance of developing cultural insight in the teaching of foreign languages.

语言学家马林诺斯基（Malinowski）提出，在学习任何民族语言过程中，如果该民族的生活环境与我们自身的生活环境不同，并拥有不同的文化，那么，这种语言的学习必须与了解该民族的文化及其生活环境同时并举。从语境与语义的关系角度出发，马林诺斯基提出了“文化语境” （context of culture）的概念，并指出语境的概念应突破语言语境的藩篱，进入对该语言赖以产生的综合背景的分析。从“文化语境”的角度观之，一个民族的语言是该民族文化的一部分，文化是语言赖以产生的条件和基础，是理解和解释语言内涵的依据。
