12.1　General Requirements

12.1.1　An environmental impact assessment shall be made for the construction of a hydropower station according to the current relevant laws and regulations of the nation，while a report or a reporting table on the environmental impact shall be compiled and submitted for approval.

12.1.2　The environmental impact assessment of the hydropower station shall be made，according to the provisions in the relevant assessment guides，to reach a conclusion of the assessment.(https://www.daowen.com)

12.1.3　The design of environmental protection shall be conducted in accordance with various protection measures as identified in both the report（table）of environment impact and the comment in its approvals.The measures shall be reviewed and adjusted if necessary.

12.1.4　When several options on the designs of site selection，project scale，construction and operation are compared，the potential environment impact in each option shall also be subject to comparison and analysis，and then the recommendation shall be proposed on the environmental aspect.
