2.5　Summary

This chapter provides a literature review of studies on image translation and image-G actualization in literary works.It starts with a discussion of the definitions of image and image-G both in terms of their general sense and literary sense,followed by elucidations concerning the aesthetic qualities and artistic representation of image and image-G in literary discourses.It is argued that image and image-G play important roles in the actualization of original ideorealm in dialectic philosophy of literary discourses.Then,it conducted a systematic review of the studies on image translation of literary works from several theoretical angles of traditional research perspectives,namely,the perspectives of culturalology,functional pragmatics,translation aesthetics and literary translation theory.Another focus is the cognitive research perspectives,namely,the perspectives of cognitive linguistics and cognitive psychology.With regard to the studies on image-G actualization of literary works,it is found that there are quite few relevant studies in the West.(https://www.daowen.com)

In spite of what has been done,lots of issues remain to be addressed concerning image-G actualization.To begin with,a more systematic study on translators'cognitive operation and psychological mechanism of image actualization in literary translation remains to be solved.Other issues concerning how the theoretical framework and conceptual category of Gestalt psychology and cognitive linguistics could be applied to the study on image-G actualization,since the methods employed in the past study were not involved with.Besides,proper cognitive translation strategies of image-G actualization have not yet been explored.
