Section II　Pu’er Tea and Ancient Tea Trees

Yunnan Province is located in the southwest border of China, with the Tropic of Cancer running through the south, which basically belongs to the inland area with low latitude.From the whole location, it is bordered by the extensive Asian continent in the north and the vast Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean in the south, just under the control of southeast monsoon and southwest monsoon, and influenced by the Xizang plateau, thus forming a complex and diverse natural geographical environment.The areas in the whole province that can plant tea trees and develop tea industry reach a range of about 300,000 km2.According to different geographical locations, the tea areas are distributed in west Yunnan, northeast Yunnan, south Yunnan, central Yunnan and northwest Yunnan.Different tea areas in different regions have different ancient tea tree resources due to various geographical environments.
