11.7　Cleaning of Reservoir Area

11.7.1　The cleaning of reservoir region shall be carried out prior to impoundment of reservoir.

11.7.2　The design for reservoir region cleaning shall meet the following requirements:

1　The design for reservoir region cleaning shall comply with the relevant requirements of authorities for health，environmental protection and labor safety，etc.

2　The scope of cleaning shall be finalized according to the extent of impact by reservoir inundation，the operating mode and the functions of the reservoir，while the distribution and number of various kinds of cleaning objects are investigated，so as to work out the cleaning specifications and then the quantity and cost of cleaning work are derived by calculation.(https://www.daowen.com)

3　For a hydropower station with the function of water（drinking water）supply，specialized cleaning measures and a scheme against pollution shall be proposed according to the environmental conditions that include distribution of pollutant sources，quality of pollutants and extent of pollution within the cleaning scope.

4　The design program of reservoir cleaning shall be economic，easy for operation，and incorporated with the construction schedule of the project to meet the requirement for water storage of the hydropower station.

5　The specific cleaning scope and the technical requirements may conform to the current specifications.
