Topic Sentence and Supporting Sentences

A topic sentence contains the main idea upon which a paragraph is developed. Often it appears at(or near) the beginning of a paragraph, introducing the main idea and suggesting the direction that the paragraph will take. What follows a topic sentence are a number of supporting sentences that develop the main idea with specific details.

From the given outline, we should first find out the relationship between the title and the topic sentences, then present the popularity of advertisement through description, which can help the reader more clearly understand the people, places, and things about which the writer is writing.Second, pick out keywords in each topic sentence, e.g. “enjoy popularity”, “advantages”, “harmful”,“the society of commodity economy”; Then, use the technique of examples to illustrate the advantages and disadvantages of television in our daily life.
