Opening up

Qingdao has promoted high-level opening-up, made solid progress in building SCODA, and the 29 innovative achievements of Qingdao Area of Shandong Pilot Free Trade Zone have been replicated and promoted in the province.

In the past five years, 113 Fortune Global 500 investment projects have been introduced, with the average annual utilized foreign capital accounting for 4.1% of the country and 39.3% of the province.

We have provided sound services to guarantee the successful organization of major international events including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Qingdao Summit, the multinational naval activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PLA Navy, Qingdao Multinationals Summit, Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia and the Second Belt and Road Energy Ministerial Conference, all of which have significantly raised the global recognition and reputation of Qingdao.

Qingdao's international circle of friends has been constantly expanded. By the end of 2021, Qingdao has 83 sister cities and friendly cooperative cities from 45 countries worldwide.
