Qingdao Oceantech Valley

It is the first marine economic development demonstration area in China, a national industrial demonstration base for developing the ocean by science and technology, and a national marine science popularization education base. Supported by the CPC Qingdao Committee and Qingdao Municipal Government, it follows the strategy of building China into a strong marine country, and is a cluster featuring marine high-tech R&D and high-tech industries. Under the general objective of becoming the Oceantec Valley of the world, it aims to build three demonstration areas of marine science and technology innovation, marine economy, marine military and civilian integration, and five centers of marine science and technology R&D, marine achievements incubation and transaction, marine emerging industry cultivation and development, marine education, culture and talents aggregation, marine tourism and health care. It also carries out breakthrough activities in seven areas, including marine related investment attraction and talent recruitment, building industrial parks, science and technology achievements transformation, urban functions improvement, rebuilding the business environment, building a new type of community, safety and stability. It strives to create a national high and new tech zone with marine features, and a highland for China's marine strategic implementation.
