Qingdao High-tech Industrial Development Zone
First established in November 1992, it is a national high-tech industrial development zone approved by the State Council. Going through several institutional reforms over the years, the zone now has one area, seven parks and one belt. As a key component of the national demonstration zone for independent innovation on the Shandong Peninsula, Qingdao High-tech Industrial Development Zone strives to develop the software & information industry, the medical and pharmaceutical industry and other pillar industries. It was granted honorary titles, including the National Demonstration Base for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the National Pilot and Demonstration Zone for Ecological Conservation, and the National Demonstration Park for Industrial Ecology.
