一、民间文学 Folk Literature
1.省级传承人：何希春
项目名称：雷州歌
何希春，男，1941年生。在当地有“雷州歌王”之称，先后发起组织成立了雷州市和湛江市雷州歌研究会，创办了会刊《山稔花》和《雷州歌声》，推动举办“雷歌状元”大奖赛，带动了各县（市）、区的雷歌赛，其主编的《雷州歌大典》是一部全面记录雷州歌历史和表现形态、具有重要文化价值的文献，是传承雷州歌的重要范本。
1. Province-Level Inheritor: He Xichun
Item: Leizhou Song
He Xichun, male, born in 1941, enjoys the reputation of “King of Leizhou Singer”. He has established Leizhou Song Research Society in City of Leizhou and City of Zhanjiang, and set up the journals Shan Ren Hua (Myrtle Flowers) and Leizhou Gesheng (Leizhou Singing). His work in holding “Leizhou Song Grand Prix” greatly promoted Leizhou Songs competitions at counties and districts in the area. Leizhou Ge Da Dian (Leizhou Song Encyclopedia), edited by He Xichun, is considered as a comprehensive record of the history and is also deemed as manifestations of Leizhou songs. Leizhou Ge Da Dian is the literature of great cultural value, setting the model for inheriting Leizhou Songs.

2. 国家级传承人：余耀南
项目名称：客家山歌（梅州客家山歌）
余耀南，男，1938年生。从事客家山歌演唱和研究50余年，经验丰富，甚有造诣。特别善于对歌，语言机巧，对答如流，擅长竹板打击，技巧高超，在梅州地区有广泛的影响，有“梅州山歌大师”之称，他演唱作品曾获省级金奖、一等奖等多个奖项，与人合著的《客家山歌知识大全》获广东文艺界的最高奖项“鲁迅文艺奖”。他积极开展传承活动，常到乡镇教唱山歌，参与举办山歌培训班，所教学员达500余人，培养了一大批年轻山歌歌手。
2. State-Level Inheritor: Yu Yaonan
Item: Hakka Folk Songs (Meizhou Hakka Folk Songs)
Yu Yaonan, male, was born in 1938. He has been singing and studying on Hakka Folk Songs for more than 50 years, attaining grand achievements. Yu, who enjoys the fame of the “Master of Meizhou Folk Songs”, has wide impact on Meizhou area. He is not only good at antiphonal singing but also good at bamboo blow. His singing works has won many awards in Guangdong Province. The Complete Collection of Hakka Folk Songs coauthored by him, was awarded “Lu Xun Literary Award”, the highest literature award in Guangdong Province. Being committed to promoting Hakka Folk Songs, Yu is keen on teaching folk songs in rural areas and conducting a series of courses to train more than 500 learners, most of whom are very successful in folk song singing.
3.国家级传承人：汤明哲
项目名称：客家山歌（梅州客家山歌）
汤明哲，男，1934年生。从事客家山歌演唱和研究50多年，能唱、能弹、能演、能写、能教，经验丰富，颇有造诣。演唱的山歌乡土气息浓郁，行腔别具一格，被有关专家称为“汤腔”，有“梅州山歌大师”之称。曾到港澳台地区及东南亚地区和欧、美等国家演出。出版山歌专著7本，收集整理出版传统客家山歌五句板30多本。先后被中国曲艺家协会授予“特别贡献曲艺家”称号，被文化部授予“中国民歌突出贡献奖”称号。在农村、工厂、大中小学举办过许多山歌培训班，培训了1万多人，还在当地大学担任客座教授，积极培养客家山歌传承人。
3.State-Level Inheritor: Tang Mingzhe
Item: Hakka Folk Songs (Meizhou Hakka Folk Songs)
Tang Mingzhe, male, was born in 1934. He has been engaging in Hakka Folk Songs for more than 50 years, attaining great achievements. He is good at singing, playing, performing, composing and teaching. Yu was honored as the “Master of Meizhou Hakka Folk Songs”. His folk songs are full of countryside features with unique line of cavity, which received high praise as “Tangqiang” (Tang cavity). Famous for his great accomplishments, he has been invited to perform in many countries or regions, like Southeast Asia, Europe, America, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan etc. Yu has published 7 monographs on Hakka Folk Songs, and more than 30 books on “Wu Ju Ban”. Yu has been awarded “Special Contribution to Folk Arts” by Chinese Ballad Singers Association, and “Outstanding Contribution Award for Chinese Folk Songs” by the Ministry of Culture of China. Being a visiting professor at the local university, Yu has always been committed to training the Hakka Folk Songs. He has held sessions of folk songs training courses and trained more than 10,000 people in rural areas, factories and schools.
4.省级传承人：池官华
项目名称：客家山歌（石岩客家山歌）
池官华，男，1940年生。10岁时即学唱山歌，有近60年的山歌演唱经验，熟练掌握当地客家山歌的曲调和演唱技巧，以演唱四句体和五句体山歌为主，擅长欢快活泼的山歌小调，常在摆擂台对歌中取胜，被当地民间称为“石岩客家山歌王”。
4. Province-Level Inheritor: Chi Guanhua
Item: Hakka Folk Songs (Shiyan Hakka Folk Songs)
Chi Guanhua, male, was born in 1940. He began to learn folk song at the age of 10. Chi has nearly 60 years of experience in singing folk songs. He is good at the tunes and singing skills of the local Hakka Folk Songs, mainly singing “Sijuti” and “Wujuti”, most of which sound cheerful and dynamic. As he often wins in antiphonal singing competitions, Chi is known as the “King of Shi Yan Hakka Folk Songs”.
5.省级传承人：卢月英
项目名称：客家山歌（松口客家山歌）
卢月英，女，1934年生。有演唱客家山歌30余年的丰富经验，熟练掌握松口山歌的韵脚、语调和韵律，尤为擅长即兴编词，出口成歌，能连续数小时对歌。虽已年逾古稀，仍积极开办山歌培训班，并辅导中小学生唱山歌，对客家山歌的传承有积极贡献。
5. Province-Level Inheritor: Lu Yueying
Item: Hakka Folk Songs (Song Kou Hakka Folk Songs)
Lu Yueying, female, was born in 1934. She has 30 years of experience in singing Hakka Folk Songs, mastering the rhyme, intonation and rhythm of Song Kou Folk Songs. She is good at improvising lyrics, singing for several hours in antiphonal style. At the age of 70 years old, she has still held a series of training courses for training primary and secondary students, committing to the development of Hakka Folk Songs.
6.国家级传承人：吴志辉
项目名称：咸水歌（中山咸水歌）
吴志辉，男，1939年生。16岁即开始参加村里的宣传队并四处演唱咸水歌，有很强的即兴编词演唱才能，擅于高八度的独特唱法，代表作品有《对花》、《姑妹歌》等。上世纪60年代曾两次获中山县民歌会演第一名，其演唱的作品已被收录于《中山民歌》唱碟，是中山市有影响的老一辈民歌手，目前正通过口传心授方式，积极培养咸水歌的下一代传承人。
6. State-Level Inheritor: Wu Zhihui
Item: Song of Boat Dwellers in Zhongshan
Wu Zhihui, male, born in 1939, began to participate in the publicity team of the village to perform Xianshui Song at the age of 16. He is good at impromptu songs and the unique skills of singing high-octave vocal, such as in his works “duihua” (meaning “guessing game”) and “gumeige”. His singing works have been collected in the album Zhongshan Folk Songs. In Zhong Shan City, Wu is an inf uential folk singer, who won the frst prize twice in the folk song competition in the 1960’s. He has trained new learners, committing to handing down the arts of Xianshui Songs from generation to generation.
7.省级传承人:黄锦玉
项目名称：咸水歌（东莞咸水歌）
黄锦玉，男，1941年生。擅长咸水歌的抒情曲调，如《膊头担伞》等，对唱十分传神，尤其精通拉音，其嗓音清亮，腔调婉转悠扬，余音袅袅，充分体现了咸水歌的神韵。热心传承活动，已将演唱技艺传授给多人。
7.Province-Level Inheritor: Huang Jinyu
Item: Songs of Guangzhou Boat Dwellers in Dongguan
Huang Jinyu, male, born in 1941, is adept in Songs of Boat Dwellers with lyrical tone, like “taking umbrella on the shoulder”. His performance in antiphonal singing is particularly vivid and expressive, especially proficient in sound prolongation. His voice is in melodious tone, which is clear, gentle, and pleasant, fully conveying the folk songs’charm. Huang is keen on passing down the arts by teaching more learners skills of singing folk songs.
8.省级传承人：罗家茂
项目名称：九峰山歌
罗家茂，男，1941年生。14岁参加乐昌县第一届民间艺术汇演即获一等奖，代表县参加粤北第一届民间戏曲艺术汇演并获一等奖。有50多年演唱山歌的丰富经验，能熟练演唱九峰山歌的四个曲调，尤其擅长二胡，自拉自唱，所演唱的山歌有80多首已入选《中国歌谣集》。近几年共采集整理了近2000首九峰山歌，还经常在村里及学校里教唱山歌，促进九峰山歌的传承。
8. Province-Level Inheritor: Luo Jiamao
Item: Jiufeng Folk Songs
Luo Jiamao, male, was born in 1941. At the age of 14, he won the frst prize in the 1st Session of Folk Art Performances in Lechang County; and won the frst prize again in the 1st Folk Art Performances of the Northern Guangdong Province. With more than 50 years of experience in singing folk songs, Luo is prof cient in singing four tunes of Jiufeng Folk Song, especially fond of singing while playing erhu ( two-stringed Chinese fddle). Over 80 songs he sang have been collected in the China Folk Songbook. In recent years, he has collected about 2000 Jiufeng folk songs, and often goes to teach songs in rural areas and schools, passing down folk songs to next generation.
9.省级传承人：刘永荣项目名称：白口莲山歌
刘永荣，男，1936年生。自小即向祖父母等老一辈学唱山歌，能出口成歌，擅长演唱白口莲山歌中的采茶调、叹情、唱花、唱情、顺口溜等，尤其保留了许多传统唱法，所录的CD音碟，甚受海外中山籍华侨的喜爱。虽年逾古稀，仍积极协助当地设立山歌文化室，举办山歌比赛，在学校开设山歌课程，热心开展白口莲山歌的传承活动。
9. Province-Level Inheritor: Liu Yongrong
Item: Baikoulian Folk Songs
Liu Yongrong, male, was born in 1936. He learned folk songs from the old generations in his early years. He is adept in singing such folk songs as tea-picking notes, sighing love, singing flowers, singing love, jingles and so on., which retain many traditional singing skills. His CD has been well fond of by overseas Chinese with ancestral home in City of Zhongshan. Though he is now 70 years old, Liu is keen on carrying out imparting activities of Baikoulian Folk Songs. He gives assistance to establish cultural rooms, organizes folk song competitions, and offers folk song curriculums at school.
10.国家级传承人：陈哲深
项目类别：广东音乐（台山广东音乐）
陈哲深，男，1938年生。副研究员，曾为江门市音乐家协会主席。中学时跟陈品豪学习琵琶、笛子、高胡，后随李凌、刘天一学艺，从事音乐演奏和创作40多年。善于将自己的演奏音色技巧与乐曲的意境融为一体，高胡演奏琴音准确优美，音色委婉动听。曾参加1959年国庆十周年省文艺会演，演出广东音乐《丰收之歌》获优秀演出奖。出版了《陈哲深音乐作品选集》、《台山民间歌曲集》等著作，代表作广东音乐《水乡儿女绣春色》获国家文化部最高文艺政府奖“群星奖”优秀奖及省港澳首届广东音乐大赛演出奖和创作奖。曾任台山广东音乐团艺术顾问，悉心指导团员演奏和创作。
10. State-Level Inheritor: Chen Zheshen
Item: Cantonese Music（Taishan cantonese music）
Chen Zheshen, male, born in 1938, has been engaged in musical performance and production for over 40 years. During his high school years, Chen learned Pipa, Flute, and Gaohu from Chen Pinhao, and latter from Li Ling and Liu Tianyi. Chen, being an associate researcher, was once the chairman of City of Jiangmen Musicians Association.(https://www.daowen.com)
He is adept in integrating artistic conception with playing skills, which could be seen from his playing on Gaohu. Chen once participated in the 10th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1959, in which his performance of Cantonese Music“Laud on Harvest” (Fengshou Zhi Ge) won the Outstanding Performance Award. He published books Chen Zhenshen Folk Song Collection and Tai Shan Folk Song Collection. His representative works of Cantonese Music “Youngsters from the South Embroider Springs” won many awards: the Top Literary Government Award, the Star Award, and the Excellent Award by the Ministry of Culture of China, as well as Performance Award and Creativity Award in the frst Cantonese Music Competition in Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macau. Chen served as an artistic advisor for Cantonese Music Troupe (in Taishan), conducting members playing and producing music.
11.国家级传承人：汤凯旋
项目名称：广东音乐
汤凯旋，男，1945年生。从事广东音乐扬琴演奏40多年，推介的“混合竹法”结束了广东扬琴左右竹法之争，并研创出“连续轮弹”的新演奏技法。在演奏和创作中，既注重保留广东音乐的特色，又对配乐组合进行新的尝试，如把《雨打芭蕉》编成扬琴独奏曲，被充分肯定。现为广东音乐曲艺团艺术顾问、中国民族管弦乐学会扬琴专业委员会顾问。
11. State-Level Inheritor: Tang Kaixuan
Item: Cantonese Music
Tang Kaixuan, male, was born in 1945. He has been engaging in Yangqin (Dulcimer) playing of Cantonese Music for more than 40 years. Not only did he promote the playing skill of “crossing playing” which ended the dispute over the playing skills of Guangdong Province Dulcimer, but he also created the techniques of “Continuous Plucking”. He pays attention to retaining the characteristics of Cantonese music as well as attempting to mix new instruments. “Raining Falling on Bananas”, which was well praised, was compiled into dulcimer solo. Tang is the artistic advisor of both Cantonese Music Troupe and the Professional Dulcimer Commission of Chinese Folk Orchestra Institute.
12.国家级传承人：林立言
项目名称：潮州音乐
林立言，男，1935年生。曾被授予“广东省优秀民间艺术师”称号，9岁即在潮乐老艺人指导下学习潮阳笛套锣鼓乐，后又拜师学习笛套古乐大笛、司鼓，有50年演奏笛套音乐的丰富经验，掌握了打鼓、吹拉、弹奏等全套技艺，并发掘、记录、整理了大批濒临失传的笛套音乐古谱，还与人合作加以演练恢复，抢救了一批笛套音乐曲目。他一手创建了潮阳潮声丝竹社，热心辅导学员学习笛套音乐古谱和演奏技巧，培养了一批年轻的笛套音乐后继人才。
12. State-Level Inheritor: Lin Liyan
Item: Chaozhou Music
Lin Liyan, male, was born in 1935. He was awarded the “Guangdong Province Outstanding Folk Artist”. Lin, with 50 years of experience in playing f ute, began his study on Chaozhou Drums and Gongs when he was 9 years old and later on turned to study the ancient music of Flutes Set and Drum. Thus, he mastered comprehensive skills in playing drums, and other Chaozhou string instruments. He recorded and collated a large batch of ancient music scores of futes which were once on the verge of being lost, and saved a batch of flute sets music tracks by his unremitting efforts. He initiated Chaoyang Chaosheng Music Community and taught learners to study Ancient Music Scores and the performing skills. Lin has cultivated lots of young musical inheritors.
13.国家级传承人：杨秀明
项目名称：潮州音乐
杨秀明，男，1933年生。当代著名古筝演奏家，曾任教于中国音乐学院器乐系，后又被聘为该院客座教授。在潮州音乐演奏上造诣甚高，他打谱并演奏的《十杯酒》、《千声佛》、《西江月》、《大八板》等多首筝曲被广为传习，曾多次受邀赴北京、香港、台北等地演奏，还应邀赴新加坡、比利时、荷兰等国家演出，在海内外颇有影响。
13. State-Level Inheritor: Yang Xiuming
Item: Chaozhou Music
Yang Xiuming, male, born in 1933, is a famous contemporary Guzheng player. He was a teacher and later was appointed as a visiting professor at the Chinese Instruments Department of China Conservatory. He has attained grand achievements in performing Chaozhou Music. He has composed and performed lots of pieces of zither music, like “Shi Bei Jiu”, “Qian Sheng Fo”, “Xi Jiang Yue”, “Da Ba Ban”. Many of his songs have been widely learned. Yang, who enjoys a high reputation overseas, has been invited to perform zither in Beijing, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Belgium and Netherlands.
14.国家级传承人：黄义孝
项目名称：潮州音乐
黄义孝，男，1935年生。潮州大锣鼓著名鼓师，12岁即随老一辈名师丘猴尚学习大锣鼓演奏，后又向各门派名师学习，博采众长，掌握了潮州大锣鼓所有传统牌子，其大锣鼓演奏表现力丰富，自成一格。发掘整理了一批大、小锣鼓传统曲目，还创作了多个新曲目。一直热心致力于潮州音乐的传承，40多年来出自其门下的鼓乐手已超过200人，不少已成为省、市的知名演奏家。
14.State-Level Inheritor: Huang Yixiao
Item: Chaozhou Music
Huang Yixiao, male, was born in 1935. He is a well known drum artist of Chaozhou Drums and Gongs. Being an apprentice of Master Qiu Houshang, Huang began his study on performing Drums and Gongs when he was 12 years old. By learning from different experts afterwards, Huang absorbed the quintessence and mastered all the traditional Qupai of Chaozhou Drums and Gongs, performing with his spectacular and unique styles. He not only collated a batch of traditional music of large gongs and small gongs, but also produced a lot of new tracks. For over 40 years, Huang has been committing to imparting Chaozhou music. Huang has trained more than 200 drummers, some of whom have become wellknown civic or provincial performers.
15.省级传承人：陈镇锡
项目名称：潮州音乐
陈镇锡，男，1943年生。二级演奏员，13岁即拜师学习大锣鼓演奏，主要致力于潮州大锣鼓的司鼓艺术，有50多年的丰富演奏经验，还编写了《潮州大锣鼓》一书并由人民音乐出版社出版，其执鼓主奏的多个曲目，曾在各项重要赛事中获金奖、银奖或优秀表演奖。多年来致力于培养大锣鼓演奏人才，不少已成为省、市的名家，为潮州音乐的传承作出了积极贡献。
15. Province-Level Inheritor: Chen Zhenxi
Item: Chaozhou Music
Chen Zhenxi, male, was born in 1943. He is a National Second Grade Instrumentalist, who has performed Chaozhou Drums and Gongs for more than 50 years. Chen began his study on performing Drums and Gongs when he was 13 years old, committing to the art of conducting Chaozhou Drums and Gongs. Chen has compiled Chaozhou Drums and Gongs which has been published by the People’s Music Press. Chen has made positive contributions and won many prizes and awards on Chaozhou Drums and Gongs performance in various competitions. He has spared no efforts to train performers, some of whom have become well-known civic or provincial performers.
16.国家级传承人：罗邦龙
项目名称：广东汉乐
罗邦龙，男，1942年生。大埔县广东汉乐研究会顾问，有40余年汉剧音乐演奏的丰富经验，擅长头弦、司鼓、扬琴，是汉剧团首席头弦领奏和汉乐大锣鼓鼓手。熟记各式锣鼓经，掌握琴艺、音色、节奏及各种乐器演奏特点，拉头弦饱满豪爽，司鼓鼓点匀称，演奏风格独特。悉心培养汉乐后继人才，精心指导青年一代的演奏技艺。
16. State-Level Inheritor: Luo Banglong
Item: Guangdong Province Hakkas Instrumental Music
Luo Banglong, male, born in 1942, is an advisory of Dabu County Guangdong Province Hakkas Instrumental Music Research Center. He has been engaged in Hanju music for more than 40 years. Luo, who is good at the touxuan (frst chord), sigu (the Secretary Drums), Yangqin (Dulcimer), is the chief touxian of Han Troupe and the Chaozhou Drums and Gongs drummer of Hanyue. Luo memorizes all kinds of percussion, mastering arts of dulcimer, tone, rhythm and features of various musical instruments. Besides, his playing is with unique style, full of enthusiasm. And he plays Sigu with symmetry of rhythm. He has committed to teaching and guiding playing skills to new generation.
17.国家级传承人：谢导秀
项目名称：古琴艺术（岭南派）
谢导秀，男，1940年生。广州音乐专科学校古琴专业毕业，师从岭南派古琴艺术宗师杨新伦。长期跟随杨先生积极推动古琴艺术研究，整理了岭南派古琴曲目《古冈遗谱》，使之得以流传，并为《双鹤听泉》、《神化引》打谱，曾出版专辑《古琴梦》、《碧涧流泉》。现为广东古琴研究会会长。一直致力于古琴的“口传心授”，为我省古琴艺术的传承与发展作出了杰出贡献。
17.State-Level Inheritor: Xie Daoxiu
Item: Guqin Art (Lingnan School)
Xie Daoxiu, male, born in 1940, graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Music majoring in Guqin (meaning “ancient dulcimer”). Under the instruction of Yang Xinlun, the master of ancient dulcimer in Lingnan, Yang actively promoted the art of ancient dulcimer, collating Gugangyipu, an ancient dulcimer track in Lingnan style and making it widely spread. Furthermore, Xie composed tracks for “Two Cranes Listening to Spring Fountain”and “Consecration”, publishing albums Guqin Dream and Spring Fountain in Blue Stream. Xie now serves as the chairman of Guangdong Province Ancient Dulcimer Research Association. He has been committed to “instruction by oral and comprehension by heart” in ancient dulcimer teaching, contributing a lot to the succession and development of ancient dulcimer for Guangdong Province.
18.省级传承人：何汉然
项目名称：佛山十番
何汉然，男，1927年生。7岁即随父学习十番音乐，有70余年的丰富演奏经验，熟练掌握佛山十番每种乐器的演奏技巧，尤以独特的飞钹演奏最为出色，动作难度极大，技巧要求极高的“左钹”、“阴钹”、“阳钹”和“过头钹”等表演花式，均能运用自如。代表性曲牌有《合鼓引》、《耍金钱》、《套鼓起》和《长锣》。如今已年逾八旬，仍热心培训活动，所教授的一批学员，已能随老一辈临场表演，为佛山十番的传承作出了积极贡献。
18. Province-Level Inheritor: He Hanran
Item: Foshan Percussion Music
He Hanran, male, born in 1927, began to learn Foshan Percussion Music from his father when he was 10. He has 70 years of experience of performing every musical instrument of Foshan Percussion Music. He is particularly good at Feibo, which requires exquisite techniques in performing, such as “zuobo”, “yinbo”, “yangbo” and “guotoubo”. His representative works include “heguyin”, “shuajinqian”, “taoguqi” and “changluo”. Although he is now 80 years old, he is still enthusiastic about training activities. The students he has cultivated are able to attend performances with the older artists now. He has been striving for the succession of Foshan Percussion Music.
19.省级传承人：梁兆帝
项目名称：八音锣鼓
梁兆帝，男，1926年生。20岁学习粤曲唱腔，后当锣鼓掌板、击乐手，有60余年演奏八音锣鼓的丰富经验，精通掌板、击鼓、打钹，技巧纯熟。打大钹格外清澈响亮，打单头更为擅长，本应由两个人配合的打单头，他能独自一人既打单头又带大钹，且表演得特别出色。现虽年逾八旬，已培养两批徒弟，并经常带队参加各类庆典活动的演奏，为佛山八音锣鼓的传承贡献心力。
19. Province-Level Inheritor: Liang Zhaodi
Item: Eight Tune Drums and Gongs
Liang Zhaodi, male, was born in 1926. He began to learn Cantonese Opera at the age of 20. Later, he learned drums and rataplan. For nearly 60 years, he has been playing Eight Tune Drums and Gongs and is proficient in Palming, Rataplan, and Cymbals. He is particularly good at playing Big Cymbals with clean sound. His performance is very fascinating. He can play them all by himself as well as play them with the other player. He has trained two sessions of prentices, and he still leads teams to participate in various activities in ceremonies even when he is over 80, devoting himself to passing on Foshan Eight Tune Drums and Gongs.

郑宣，男，1949年生。10岁即开始学习唢呐吹奏，16岁便能掌握所有曲牌、小调，有40多年演奏吹打乐的丰富经验。能吹打多种佛曲、道曲、套曲，吹唢呐善于自如控制气息，手指控制发音孔十分灵活，有滑指或插指加花，形成不同的变奏音效；尤其擅长头、臂顶着瓷碗双吹唢呐的特技表演，并以此项近乎绝活的技艺，在第七届中国民间文化节暨全国吹歌展演中获特别优秀奖，被誉为“吹歌大王”。

Zheng Xuan, male, was born in 1949. When he was 10, he began to learn playing Suona. He was able to grasp various skills in playing Qupai and Xiaodiao when he was only 16. With 40 years of experience in playing wind and percussion music, Zheng can play a variety of wind and percussion music like Foqu, Tao Qu, and divertimento. While playing Suona, He is good at controlling his breath. He is skilled at controlling the sound hole with his flexible fingers, sliding or sticking so as to produce different sounds. He’s especially adept at stunt performance like playing Suona with porcelain bowls on his head or arms, by which he won the Excellence Award in the 7th Chinese folk song blow Cultural Festival and the National Showcase, and was known as “King of Wind and Percussion Music”.
