The Picture Album brief y describes the 182 state-level and province-level intangible cultural heritage items, and 235 representative inheritors of the intangible cultural heritage items. The descriptions of the items are concise, vivid, and readable, and the fascinating pictures in the Picture Album can all refect the historical features of the items. In short, the Picture Album is excellent in terms of both pictures and language.

In Picture Album of the First Batch of State-level Intangible Cultural Heritage compiled by China Art Research Institute and Center for the Preservation of China’s State-level Intangible Cultural Heritage, the compilers devote 32 chapters to the introduction of the chosen cultural heritage items in Guangdong Province. In view of the connection of the work, we offer no new description of these items in the present Picture Album. Instead, we make use of the brief introductions of the items from Picture Album of the First Batch of State-level Intangible Cultural Heritage. Here, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to China Art Research Institute, the Center for the Preservation of China’s State-level Intangible Cultural Heritage, and the Culture and Art Press for their outstanding contributions.

All the descriptions and pictures in Picture Album of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Guangdong Province came from the materials submitted by the Cutlural Bureaus of cities, counties, and towns throughout Guangdong Province. We invited experts in this feld to revise the materials and compile the brief introductions of the chosen intangible cultural heritage items. The relevant authorities also provide us with descriptions of the representative inheritors of the items and supplied tables of the intangible cultural heritage items. Many work units, individuals, particularly cultural workers, prominent figures inheriting the items, and experts have made great efforts to survey the intangible cultural heritage items in Guangdong Province, and in declaring, evaluating, and recommending such items. The publication of this volume of Picture Album is the result of joint efforts from various work units, experts and residents throughout the whole province. To their selfess contributions we owe sincere gratitude.

In compiling the present Picture Album, we have also received generous support from Publicity Bureau of Guangdong Province, Cultural Bureau of Guangdong Province, and World Publishing Corporation. Without their help, the Picture Album would have been quite otherwise. In a sense, they deserve our heartfelt thanks.(https://www.daowen.com)
