Stage performance is an important part of China’s entertainment industry.The law of the People’s Republic of China divides stage performance into commercial stage performance and non-commercial performance, of which commercial stage performance is the key normative object of legal policy.Laws and policies that need to be understood include: the Company Law (Order of the President No.15) amended by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on October 26, 2018 and came into effect at the same time, the Regulation on the Administration of Commercial Stage performances (Order of the State Council No.666) amended by the State Council on February 16, 2016 and came into effect at the same time, and Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Regulation on the Administration of Commercial stage performance (Order No.57 of the Ministry of Culture)amended by the former Ministry of Culture on December 15, 2017 and came into effect at the same time, etc.This chapter will focus on the legal practice of the commercial stage performance industry.

Commercial stage performances refer to live cultural performances such as concerts, musicals, live shows, etc., which are organized for the purpose of making profits.
