杜氏雕花楼
The Dus' Residence with Carvings
明清时期的松江城杜氏大家族聚居仓城地区。从秀野桥到大仓桥之间，被列入松江区级文物保护单位和登记不可移动文物的杜家建筑有十余处，包括杜氏雕花楼、杜氏宗祠、杜氏佛堂等。杜氏雕花楼为杜岭梅的住宅，建于清代嘉庆年间（1796—1820），在1930年代拓宽中山西路时拆除了南部的部分院落，现存四进：前楼、走马楼、后屋与厢房。现存宅院坐北朝南，面阔12.2米，进深44.5米，为典型的清代江南民居风貌，有多组木结构二层楼房，为松江区级文物保护单位。
第一、二进为清代建筑，沿街面为三开间的二层木结构房屋，硬山屋顶。穿过过厅与天井，跨过花岗岩镶嵌的宅门，朴实的仪门上书“紫气东来”四个篆体大字。仪门以北的天井被一层楼高的白色花园墙分割成三个小空间，中间为通道，东西各有相对独立的鹅卵石铺地小花园。第二进的正厅为客厅，是主人会客之处。东西两侧各有房间，透过花格木窗，可欣赏南侧小花园。穿过客厅，天井垂满藤蔓，四周的屋檐与黑色的滴水瓦组成框景。“回”字形的木楼四周均采用大面积的玻璃窗，让东西南北每一个面都能获得采光与通风。
向北移步，第三进雕花楼为民国时期建筑最为精彩，为当时杜怡清（据说民国时曾任松江区区长）为新婚而翻建。朝南的正立面一层和二层均有外廊，从立柱、挂落、栏杆扶手到门窗额枋均覆盖了丰富的雕刻。木雕造型多样，线条丰富，或花卉虫鱼，或人物山水，或西式图案，具有极高的艺术欣赏价值。受到西方建筑艺术的影响，小楼有西式的雕花图案并选用一些西洋建筑材料，如东厢楼玻璃原为英国进口花玻璃、铸铁围栏等。最后一进是佣工们活动的场所，东边有穿弄可直通前厅。
目前雕花楼为松江区非物质文化遗产传习基地，不定期展示松江区的顾绣、草龙舞、十锦细锣鼓、皮影戏、余天成堂传统中药和江南丝竹等非物质文化遗产。
In the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Dus in Songjiang lived in the Cangcheng area. The Dus' Residence with carvings is the house of Du Lingmei. Built during the Jiaqing era of the Qing dynasty (1796—1820), some of the southern courtyards were demolished during expansion efforts of the West Zhongshan Road in the 1930s, leaving four parts: the front building, the reception hall, the backroom, and the wing-room. The existing buildings are typical of Jiangnan's two-story residential neighborhoods from the Qing dynasty.
The first and second parts were built during the Qing dynasty. The two-story wooden houses along the street are three bays wide with a gabled roof. Passing from the hallway and through the patio, there is the granite-inlaid gate, on which the characters “Zi qi Dong lai” in seal script were inscribed. The north portion of the patio is divided into three small spaces by a white wall with a passage in the middle and two gardens paved with cobblestones on either side. The reception hall contains rooms on both sides, from the wooden window of which you can appreciate the bonsai tree in the garden. Outside the reception hall a vine-filled patio is encircled by eaves composed of black tiles. Large glass windows are applied to allow the sunshine and fresh air to come through.
In the north, the third part of the building was constructed during the Republic of China. Colonnades reside on the first and second floors of the south side. The columns, fascia, balustrades, doors, windows, and architraves are decorated with carvings in various patterns including plants, insects, figures, and landscapes. Influenced by western architecture, the building utilizes many western-style patterns and architectural materials, such as tinted-and-figured glass and cast iron railings. Finally, utility rooms connect with the front hall through the lane in the east.
At present, the Dus' Residence has been completely restored and hosts cultural exhibitions including embroidery displays, the dragon dance, gong and drum performances, shadow puppetry, traditional Chinese medicine, Jiangnan Sizhu, and other displays of intangible cultural heritage.
