2.2 THELAYOUT OF NOTICES

A notice is usually composed of four components:headline, body, the name and position of the person who writes it,and the date.

A notice requires a clear headline at the top, which can help to catch the reader's eyes. The function of a notice headline is to inform the reader,at his first glance, the subject of the notice.A notice to announce arrangements of a meeting, for example, can be titled“Notice of Meeting”,and a notice for something missing usually has the title of“Lost”or“Missing”.(https://www.daowen.com)

The body is the main part of a notice. In this section it is essential that all the necessary information is given so that the reader can understand the information and act on it.A notice of a meeting or a gathering, for example, should state clear the time, the place and some other information of the meeting or gathering.Notices of lectures or talks should also include background information about the speakers.

In most notices the name of the person who writes the notice and the date are placed at the bottom. In some notices the date is found at the right end of the line below the headline.
