1 Types of Business Writing

Generally speaking,any articles which are written for the business purpose are business writing.Business writing can also be divided into different types according to different principles.

Based on the relationship between the writers and readers,business writing can be drafted by the superiors,the inferiors or the colleagues.

Based on the different contexts,business writing can be divided into six types: administrative documents,marketing documents,company propaganda documents, legal documents,socializing documents,and personal documents.

Administrative documents include notices,announcements,requests,approvals, plans,summaries,reports,and conference memos.

Marketing documents include the writings involved with marketing analysis, market research reports,and feasibility reports.

Company propaganda documents are used for the publicity of company's condition,brands or commodities.They can be made in the form of company profiles, advertisements,commodity manuals,and business letters.

Legal documents are the documents related to legal activities,such as contracts, letters of attorney,and application forms.

Socializing documents are used for social etiquette,including invitation cards, welcoming address,inaugural address,letter of consolation,message of congratulation,and message of condolences.

Personal documents are some regular writings related to personal life,study and work,such as application letter,résumé,letter of resignation,message slip,receipt for a loan(IOU),and note for leave.
