A Business Itinerary
A business itinerary is prepared for business trips,to help keep you on schedule with meetings and travel arrangements. The business itinerary is most often prepared by an assistant or secretary for an employer.A well-prepared business itinerary should include everything from travel arrangements to accommodations and scheduled business meetings.Preparing an effective business itinerary will keep your employer organized and on schedule.
3.1 How to Write a Business Itinerary
Normally,a business itinerary should include five steps as following:
Step 1 List detailed travel arrangements. These should include phone numbers and directions as well as departure time. The travel arrangements should include where to check in and cab or rental car information.Research the area where the business will be conducted. This is especially important for business trips.
Step 2 Write down the address of any scheduled stop, along with the times of each meeting.Indicate the estimated travel time between each meeting based on the time of day.
Step 3 Provide complete hotel information. This includes the room number and directions to the hotel.Include special instructions about check-in and checkout times,as well as information regarding any services the hotel provides that may be useful to your boss.
Step 4 Write down any special information your boss may need to bring to each meeting. This can be especially important if you're writing a particularly busy itinerary. It can help with organization and ensures nothing important gets left behind.Items that may be included in this list are presentations, sample products or contracts that need to be signed.
Step 5 Write a suggested restaurant list that gives several options for lunch and dinner.Select restaurants located near where your boss will be attending meetings or stopping.Call the restaurants to determine the typical wait time for a meal to help schedule it into the itinerary schedule.
