5.3 Summary

This chapter has set out the reasons why I have chosen to use feminist methodology to research domestic violence.Firstly, feminist methodology focuses on gender and the understanding of women's worlds (Harding,1987;Letherby,2003;Maynard &Purvis,1994).Secondly,feminist methodology pays careful attention to practice experiences. Finally, feminist methodology indicates the use of multiple-methods.In conclusion, feminist methodology is both dynamic and cumulative and theoretical and practical, and this will be reflected in my research. The next two chapters will discuss the methods I have used in my research.
