7.2 Summary
7.2 Summary
This chapter has described my practical experience doing research. It outlined what an interview is and included consideration of advantages and disadvantages of interviewing.Secondly, this chapter has also explained why I chose the in-depth interview as my research instrument. Finally, the chapter has examined in detail how I used the in-depth interview in practice and how I coded my interview data. This chapter has also specifically illustrated how I collected the interview data and introduced the respondents briefly through tables and words.Reflection about interview data was particularly highlighted for my action in practice.Through this assessment, the merits and weakness of my practical research were discussed. This chapter has also explained what coding is and its crucial role in research. It has been emphasised that I as a new researcher chose topic coding, which helped me to complete my interview data analysis and to obtain a new understanding of marriage, family and domestic violence and also to orient my themes to my research aims.
According to the principles of the methodology, following the collection and analysis of data, researchers need to go to the next step:looking at the data and finding the information from them.It is a prelude to analysis and discussion.Part III:Research Findings and Discussion therefore forms the next section of the thesis.
