Medvedev Breaks into Top Five

Medvedev stood out in the world of tennis this August.But make no mistake about it.This man is not the Russian prime minister（总理）.He is Daniil Medvedev，a p__1__tennis player.

For the third time in three weeks，Medvedev played in the final of an ATP Tour（职业网球联合会世界巡回赛）event.The difference was that the latest one became a s__2__for the Russian star.

On August 19，Medvedev b__3__David Goffin to win his first career ATP Masters 1000 title（冠军头衔）at the Cincinnati Masters（辛辛那提大师赛）.He has become the fifth player from his country to win a Masters 1000 title.“He played very well during the last three weeks，”Goffin said of Medvedev.“He didn't m__4__a chance.It was like playing against a wall.”

After a marathon（马拉松式的）18 matches in 20 days，Medvedev seemed too tired to c__5__.“It's hard to find words.I've been playing for so many days in a row，”the 23-yearold said after the match.“It's the hard work I've been putting in.It would not be good to lose three finals in a month.So I'm really happy about this.Now I just n__6__to stay in bed and watch TV for 24 hours a day.”

In becoming the youngest champion in Cincinnati since 21-year-old Andy Murray in 2008,Medvedev added a fifth ATP Tour title.It was his second title of 2019.He has also j__7__to a new career-high ranking of No.5 in the world.
