R:How long will you be staying?
G:About a week.
R:How many guests will there be in your party?

TA:Good afternoon.I’m Peter Jones from CYTS.I’d like to reserve rooms for my group.
R:Could you please tell me how many people will come and what type of rooms do you prefer,Mr.Jones?
TA:Yes.We have 20 people in all and we’d prefer ten junior suites.
R:When will you check in and check out?
TA:From June 10th to 15th.
R:Just a moment,please.Let me check…Yes,we have those rooms available then.
TA:Then what is the room rate per night?Is there a special group rate?
R:Yes.$380 per night and we will offer a 10% discount for a group reservation.
TA:Great!
R:Ok.Mr.Peter Jones.You have reserved 10 junior suites from June 10th to 15th.Am I right?
TA:Yes.
R:Fine.We’ll send you a confirmation by fax within 3 days.May I know your fax number?

Dialogue 3 Revising Reservation

TG:Good morning.I am from CITS.A week ago I booked two rooms in your hotel for my guests from December 5th to 12th.Now I am calling to revise the reservation.
R:Could you please tell me in whose name you’ve reserved?I will check it for you.
TG:Mary Smith.
R:Mary Smith.Yes.Here we are.You have reserved two deluxe doubles for Mr.Blacks and Mr.Bakers.How would you like to change it?
TG:Yesterday Mr.Baker called us that he and his family had to cancel their travel plan because of some emergency situation.
R:Then you mean you will cancel one deluxe double?
TG:Not exactly.In fact one deluxe double for Mr.Bakers should be canceled,and for the other one,Mr.Black would like to upgrade to a suite,if possible.
R:Ok.Hold on,please.Let me check.Oh,yes.We have the room available then.
TG:That’s great! Oh,one more thing,Mr.Blacks want to stay one more day,till 13th.
R:So a deluxe suite from December 5th to 13th for Mr.Blacks.Am I right?
TG:Quite right.Sorry to have caused you so much trouble.
R:Not at all.I’m always at your service.

G:Yes.I’d like to reserve a double room with a bath from July 15th to 20th.
R:Please hold on.I will check our rooms’ availability.Sorry,Sir.I’m afraid we are fully booked those days as it is the peak season.
G:Oh,what a pity!
R:Is it possible for you to change your reservation date?
G:I’m afraid not.
R:Then would you like us to put you on our waiting list in order to inform you in case if we have a cancellation?
G:Thank you.It’s very kind of you.But could you recommend another one near your hotel to me?
R:Yes,of course.If you require a hotel as ours,I would suggest that you try the Grace Hotel.
G:Then how far it is from your hotel?
R:It takes only 10 minutes to get there if you go by taxi.
G:That sounds good.Oh,one more thing,do you have their telephone number?
