Passage 55

Passage 55

学霸导读 电影《少年的你》引起了不小的轰动,其反映的校园霸凌问题也应得到更多的 关注。

The anti-bullying f ilm Better Days deepened my understanding of school bullying. I used to think school bullying was far from us, but that is not the case. We are seeing an i 1 in school bullying all over the world. These unfortunate incidents are causing h 2 to many young people.

Many teenagers suffer from school bullying. The reason why we don’t know about their suffering is that many of them don’t dare to speak out about their experiences. Some do speak out, but no one around them is willing to help them go t 3 their tough days. The effect of school bullying on the victim can last a lifetime. It’s time we did something about this problem.

Another reason is that social media makes it much e 4 to be a bully. Bullies today don’t have to face the person they’re bullying. They can just post a hurtful comment or an embarrassing photo on Weibo or in a WeChat group chat. Everyone in the class, or even the whole school, will see it. Some may even join in with their own unkind comments to “mob ( 围攻 )” the victim.

The bully and the “mob ( 犯罪团伙 )” may think it’s fun. However, their actions can d 5 the life of the victim. They can cause depression, anxiety and, in some cases, suicide. This shouldn’t happen and it doesn’t have to happen. And you can actually stop it.

If you see someone being bullied in your school, or anywhere, don’t be a s 6 coward. Don’t just say to yourself, “It’s not my problem.” If you’re too shy to face the bully yourself, then you should at least be brave enough to report the incident to a teacher as soon as possible. And you should also be willing to stand up for the victim even when others do not.

Moreover, I think we need stricter school rules. Many boys and girls bully others because the school rules h 7 deal with bullying incidents.

Last but not least, we should try our best to p 8 school bullying from happening. Perhaps schools can pay more a 9 to students’ mental health since scientists have found bullies are nearly twice as likely to have mental health problems.

I’d like to c 10 on all schools and families to sit up and take notice of school bullying. I sincerely hope all students can have a happy school life.
