◎An Inscription about Lotus Stone Park

Xu Shichang

Note: Xu Shichang, the fourth president of the Republic of China, wrote this poem at Beidaihe, Qinhuangdao in 1919.

This poem can be interpreted as follows:

There are layered waves on the sea, and I see the high pine tree under white clouds and the bright sun.

This is a lotus world with a fairy cave, and a solitary crane fly across the green peak.

Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty and Emperor Shihuang of the Qin Dynasty stayed in the world for a short time, but the sea, mountains, and clouds are more permanent.

There is the Great Wall at the Central Plains. The clouds, wind and forest are singing alone.
