1.Discuss and understand the“Dialogues”part.

2.Try to make up a dialogue by using the expressions you've learned in this unit,then practice it with your partner.

3.Read and comprehend short passages related with How to Collect a Train Ticket.

4.Write a dialogue according to the situation given:You are a screener or passenger clerk at the station entrance.Please check a passenger's ticket and show him/her the way to the waiting hall.

5.Translate the following sentences and dialogues into English or Chinese.

(1)Translate into Chinese.

—Many large cities(even some small ones)have more than one station.Guangzhou in the south and Beijing in the north both have three widely separated stations.

—Large train stations usually have large“squares”out front.Many Chinese arrive hours early for their trains and are not admitted into the station.

There may be a very large electronic reader board above the entrance or off to the side which lists all the upcoming trains,so those waiting passengers will be informed.

At the entrance you will find a security screening area.Place your bags and other carry-on items on a moving conveyor belt(it is low,so easy to use)and walk around the machine to get your items on the other side.

(2)Translate into English.

场景一:安检。

旅客:不好意思,这是我第一次坐高铁。我怎么坐车呢?

客运员:我能看一下您的车票吗?

旅客:对不起,我没有车票。

客运员:您先到那个柜台去买票。有什么需要托运的吗?

旅客:没有,我只有一个手提包。

客运员:安检之后您可以在候车室等候上车。

旅客:谢谢。

场景二:换票。

旅客:打扰一下,我在网上订了两张去广州的车票,想知道在哪里可以换票。

客运员:哦,现在有一个新规定:自2011年12月1日起,在互联网上购买高铁火车票的旅客,可直接刷二代身份证检票乘车,不需要取票。

旅客:太棒了!那太方便了。我们不用再去换票了,省了很多时间,对吧?

客运员:但很遗憾,这个新规定只针对中国人,因为只有二代身份证才能在机器上刷,对外国旅客来说,仍需提前到车站售票窗口或代售点售票窗口换取纸质车票。

旅客:我明白了。非常感谢。

客运员:不用客气。
