The daily report contains some key operating ratios：room occupancy percentage（ROP），which is rooms occupied divided by rooms available.Thus，if a hotel has 850 rooms and 622 are occupied，the occupancy percentage is 622÷850=73.17 percent.If 375 of the 622 occupied rooms are occupied by two ormore persons，then the double or multiple occupancy percentage is calculated as follows：dividing the number of rooms occupied bymore than one guest by the number of rooms occupied，i.e.375÷622=0.603 or 60.3%.The average daily rate（ADR）is，together with the occupancy percentage，one of the key operating ratios that indicate the hotel's performance.The average daily rate is calculated by dividing the rooms revenue by the number of rooms sold.If the rooms revenue was RMB 75，844 and the number of rooms sold was 662 then the ADR would be RMB 122.See the following figure for an example of a daily report.

①Paying the Hotel Bill by Credit Card信用卡结账
此类结账时，要仔细核对（check）客人的信用卡是否与入住登记时拉卡（swipe）的信用卡一致。如果不一致，应确认信用卡的真伪和有效性（validity）。查看是否超过预拉信用卡限额（credit limit）。超过限额是否有授权（authorization）。如果没有授权，应立即与信用卡公司（credit card company）取得联系并取得授权。然后，请客人在签购单上签名（sign the receipt）。
②Can Ipay in American dollars？我能用美元付账吗？
有些客人在结账时认为如果先将美元换成人民币，然后用人民币付账，会由于美元买入和卖出的差价而受到损失，因而可能会坚持用美元付账。碰到此类问题，应向客人解释清楚中国人民政府的规定：涉外饭店（hotels for foreign tourists）不可以直接向客人收取美元，只可以收取人民币。因此饭店只能让客人将美元换成人民币后收取。至于买入和卖出的差价，不仅在中国，在世界各地的外汇（foreign exchange）市场也都有这一外汇差价。
