Overall Requirements and Standards for Helicopter ...
1.Condition(Exterior)
Conduct visual check to see if there is any deformation, damage, fracture, abrasion, scratch, erosion, dust, dirt, overheated place and so on.
2.Fixation
Conduct visual check on mounting points(including conditions of locking devices and markings of self-locking nuts).Make sure each mounting point is tightly fastened, well secured and well protected by shock absorbers.Hand check can also be used during visual check(use hands to check parts and components that might be malfunctioning).Maintainers could use hands to gently shake target parts or components and check if there is any abnormal gap or clearance in the movement.
3.Cables and cable plugs
(1)Cables and cable plugs shall be clean, well insulated and well wrapped against abrasion,oil/fuel and water.Anti-wave sleeves shall be intact and well grounded.
(2)Harnesses shall be well aligned, fastened and insulated. They shall be wrapped to avoid abrasion with other parts or bulkheads of the helicopter. The bending angles of wires shall exceed 90°.Proper length shall be reserved for movable wires.
(3)Pins and bolts shall be well installed.Nuts shall be well fastened and secured according to the standards.
(4)Electric contacts such as pins, jacks and negative wires shall be clean and well connected.Fracture of a bonding jumper(or a harness of bonding jumpers)shall not exceed 1/3 of the total diameter.
4.Pipes
Conduct visual check to see if there is any leakage in the connecting points of pipes and sleeves.Make sure the joints are well fastened by clamps.Pipes shall not be violently bended or abraded.Note:please pay special attention to the outlets and joints of hydraulic, fuel and oil systems and the pipes in the pitot-static system during such checks.
