九年级的学生对于节日的话题并不陌生,同时对这个话题也非常感兴趣。七年级下册的Unit 6 Section B的Reading以端午节为话题,学生可以通过比较中美对待端午节的不同态度,结合自己的生活实际来了解和感受中西方文化的不同,同时培养自身的对世界的整体观念。九年级的Unit 2以节日为话题,涉及西方国家的圣诞节和中国传统节日中秋节的各方面信息。通过讲述节日背后的故事,学生能够更好地领会节日蕴含的精神和意义。

Learning Objectives

By the end of the class,students are expected to

◆talk about different aspects of festivals by describing time,food,...;

◆adopt the mind map to have a structured information of sharing a festival;

◆tell the differences between the western festivals and Chinese festivals;

◆learn to have a critical thinking on the spirit of different festivals.

Teaching Focuses&Learning Difficulties

◆Teaching focuses:T guides the Ss to share different aspects of traditional Chinese festivals with the mind map and understand the stories and meanings behind them.

◆Learning difficulties:Ss may find it difficult to output the writing about festivals.So students need the writing frame like the mind map to share a writing about festivals.
