[1]I borrow this term from Zhang Longxi，who criticises the structural principle of binary opposition in the comparative study of Chinese and Western literature，which always considers China as the ultimate“Other”(Zhang，1998:20).As this study also aims to call for the importance of breaking the cultural division in the second language education，I found Zhang Longxi’s argument instructive for this study.See Zhang Longxi，Mighty Opposites:From Dichotomies to Differences in the Comparative Study of China(Stanford:Stanford University Press，1998).
