The design and goal of the training:
The air writing process is no longer conducted.The gradual transition from big-size character writing to normal-size character writing takes place,and in the meantime,the reading exercise also changes from reading aloud to reading silently.The purpose is to normalize the students’Chinese character writing and memory process and encourage the students to utilize the method in their vocabulary learning process.
Description of the training:
By directly following the animation of character writing video,the students are asked to directly write down the character on a piece of paper with a marker or water-writing paper into a big-size character(about 5 cm)and repeat the process from last cycle twice.After this,the students are asked to write the character in normal size on a piece of grid paper in the same way as previously done on the big size paper,and then read silently the character,the word it formed and its meaning.This helps the students’Chinese character writing and memorizing process get into the practical state of utilizing the newly learned method in their daily learning.
By this stage,the second language learner’s new character acquisition strategy has been established and is used in their everyday learning practice.
