博士研究生听力考试中的短对话和长对话一般都会设定一个场景，考查点因场景不同而不同。常考的听力场景包括校园生活、家庭生活、工作、社会生活以及出行等。下面就来看看各种听力场景及其解题方法。
熟悉场景
校园生活是博士研究生英语听力短对话中常考的话题，是重点场景之一。
（1）学习场景
场景人物：学生
场景涉及内容：课堂发言、小组讨论、课后作业、准备考试、图书馆资源利用等。
场景词汇：proofread，final exam，results，theory，essay，subject，title，be through with等。
（2）教务场景
场景涉及内容：学期计划、调课信息、考试安排、课程介绍等。
场景词汇：midterm，finals，score，class discussion，elementary，intermediate，advanced等。
（3）听课场景
场景人物：教师、学生等。
场景涉及内容：学生上课迟到、缺课，一些学生不适应教授的课程，教授给学生留作业等。
场景词汇：professor，briefing，complicated，extra copies，presentation，mission等。
（4）选课场景
场景人物：教师、学生等。
场景涉及内容：学生是否有资格选某门课，对老师的评价，课程的难易程度及优缺点等。
场景词汇：elective，prerequisite course，register，sign up for the course，pick up，full等。
（5）论文场景
场景人物：教授与学生之间或者学生之间。
场景涉及内容：讨论论文写作的相关事宜：论文题目、查找资料、就论文提问等。
场景词汇：plagiarism（剽窃），optional course，biology，course，class permit等。
答题技巧
（1）熟悉校园生活场景词汇。英语交际通常使用一种模式化的语言，在固定的场景中，其词汇和表达也相对比较固定，平时考生应注意积累场景高频词汇和习惯表达，这样在听力短对话部分才能达到未听半知的状态。
（2）分析选项，判断场景。客观题目的选项设计一般都有其内在的逻辑关系，有些相互印证，有些截然对立，还有些毫不相关，但这些选项可以提示考生短对话中的关键词和表达。考生通过阅读选项，捕捉题目中出现的关键词，就可以判断此类场景是否为校园生活场景。
（3）对话中涉及的被细致描述的各项事务的细节问题、时间、地点、计划推迟或变更是考查重点。
（4）注意同义替换。直接听到的往往不是答案，必须听完完整的对话和问题后再做判断。
