5大场景(三)工作场景

熟悉场景

工作场景是博士研究生英语听力短对话中常考的话题,是重点场景之一。这类场景主要涉及办公室场景、面试场景、收发邮件场景、开会场景等。

(1)办公室场景

场景人物:老板、秘书、前台、雇主等。

场景涉及内容:升职、加薪、培训、处理投诉、离职、退休等。

场景词汇:qualificationcost living riseretiretake overlayoffsalaryget a rise等。

(2)面试场景

场景人物:求职者、面试官等。

场景涉及内容:求职者的资质,求职公司的待遇福利,求职者以前从事的工作等。

(3)收发邮件场景

场景人物:秘书、上司、助理、顾客等。

场景涉及内容:通知、邀请、投诉等。

场景涉及内容:开会的时间地点、开会的内容等。

场景词汇:appointment(约会),move on tocancelpresentationreplaceon behalf of等。

答题技巧

(1)熟悉工作场景词汇。考生可以把真题中出现的自己没掌握的词汇挑出来单独记在笔记本上,归类记忆,把真题中出现的一些场景故事记熟。真正考试的时候,考生可以靠这些归类的词汇、背景知识和场景故事,来有目的地解决问题。

(2)听前预测话题场景和问题。根据选项进行预测主要有两方面,一方面是预测话题场景,另一方面是预测问题的类型。如果考生在听对话和问题前,能够根据选项判断出该对话的话题和问题类型,就可以对将要听到的对话有一个预热的过程,为下一步做好准备。

(3)听清问题,避免答非所问。短对话的内容属于日常交际范畴,话语不会太过复杂或难以理解,但由于录音只读一遍,考生稍不留神就可能错过了答题的信息点。所以,在听每段短对话时,考生一定要高度集中注意力,抓住对话双方表述的意思。听清问题,避免答非所问。
